Airbus, G\u00e9rard a vol\u00e9 sur presque tous les avions<\/p>\n<p><b>Robert  SIMONNET<\/b><br>extrait du journal \u00ab&nbsp;<b>Le Perche<\/b>&nbsp;\u00bb&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Durant pr\u00e8s de trente ans, G\u00e9rard Guyot, mon neveu, a \u00e9t\u00e9 pilote d&rsquo;essai chez Airbus. Il a particip\u00e9 aux premiers vols de certains appareils et fait le tour du monde en 48 heures avec un A340.<br>G\u00e9rard Guyot a effectu\u00e9 durant pr\u00e8s de trente ans les vols d\u2019essai d\u2019Airbus. Il a cumul\u00e9 au total plus de 8 000 heures de vol.<\/p>\n<p>Petit,&nbsp;G\u00e9rard Guyot&nbsp;se r\u00eavait&nbsp;pilote de ligne. Une mauvaise vue l\u2019emp\u00eache finalement de r\u00e9aliser ce r\u00eave de gamin. \u00ab Un mal pour un bien \u00bb pour ce&nbsp;retrait\u00e9 de l\u2019aviation,&nbsp;devenu finalement&nbsp;pilote d\u2019essai,&nbsp;qui a v\u00e9cu une carri\u00e8re \u00ab encore mieux que dans mes r\u00eaves.&nbsp;\u00bb<br>De&nbsp;formation d\u2019ing\u00e9nieur,&nbsp;ce&nbsp;Percheron d\u2019adoption&nbsp;est&nbsp;entr\u00e9 chez Airbus en janvier 1973. Cr\u00e9\u00e9e trois ans plus t\u00f4t, l\u2019entreprise n\u2019en est alors qu\u2019\u00e0 ses d\u00e9buts. \u00ab&nbsp;Au d\u00e9part, l\u2019entreprise n\u2019\u00e9tait pas tr\u00e8s connue et elle ne vendait pas beaucoup d\u2019avions&nbsp;\u00bb, se rem\u00e9more-t-il.<br>Le m\u00e9tier de pilote d\u2019essai<br>G\u00e9rard Guyot a d\u00e9but\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re chez l\u2019avionneur europ\u00e9en peu de temps apr\u00e8s la cr\u00e9ation de ce dernier. \u00ab \u00c0 mon \u00e9poque, on n\u2019\u00e9tait pas tr\u00e8s nombreux. Il y a maintenant plus de pilotes d\u2019essai, car Airbus doit livrer beaucoup d\u2019avions dans les prochaines ann\u00e9es \u00bb, confie le retrait\u00e9. En France, les pilotes d\u2019essai sont form\u00e9s aupr\u00e8s de l\u2019\u00c9cole du Personnel Navigant d\u2019Essais et de R\u00e9ception (EPNER), puis au sein de DGA Essais en vol, une administration rattach\u00e9e \u00e0 la direction g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l\u2019Armement. Des \u00e9tapes obligatoires. \u00ab Sans ce parcours, on ne peut pas devenir pilote d\u2019essai \u00bb, pr\u00e9vient G\u00e9rard Guyot. Consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme l\u2019un des m\u00e9tiers les \u00ab plus pointus et complexes \u00bb de l\u2019a\u00e9ronautique, le pilote d\u2019essai a pour mission de r\u00e9aliser plusieurs vols d\u2019essai pour tester les prototypes d\u2019a\u00e9ronef avant leur certification ou la livraison d\u2019un avion \u00e0 un client.<br>Conna\u00eetre l\u2019avion par c\u0153ur avant le vol<br>Avant d\u2019obtenir leur certification et d\u2019\u00eatre mis sur le march\u00e9, les avions doivent cumuler&nbsp;\u00ab&nbsp;plus de 2 000 heures de vol&nbsp;\u00bb. \u00ab&nbsp;G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, les tests sont effectu\u00e9s avec deux ou trois prototypes diff\u00e9rents&nbsp;\u00bb, souligne G\u00e9rard Guyot.<br>Il effectue&nbsp;les premiers vols de plusieurs avions&nbsp;de&nbsp;Airbus&nbsp;: le&nbsp;A310&nbsp;ou encore le&nbsp;A320.&nbsp;\u00ab&nbsp;En vol, il y a toujours deux pilotes et un ou deux ing\u00e9nieurs. Ce sont eux qui sont en quelque sorte&nbsp;les chefs d\u2019orchestre du vol. Ils pr\u00e9parent les plans de vol&nbsp;\u00bb, signale-t-il.<\/p>\n<p>Au cours de sa carri\u00e8re, G\u00e9rard Guyot a vol\u00e9 sur presque tous les avions d\u2019Airbus. \u00ab&nbsp;Je n\u2019ai pas particip\u00e9 aux essais du A380.&nbsp;\u00bb<br>G\u00e9rard Guyot aura particip\u00e9 aux premiers vols de plusieurs avions d\u2019Airbus, dont celui du A310.<br>Avant de monter dans l\u2019appareil pour le premier vol, il y a \u00ab&nbsp;trois ans de pr\u00e9paration&nbsp;\u00bb notamment avec les membres du bureau d\u2019\u00e9tudes. \u00ab&nbsp;On suit la cr\u00e9ation de l\u2019avion de A \u00e0 Z. Quand le premier vol arrive,&nbsp;on apprend l\u2019avion par c\u0153ur.&nbsp;\u00bbOn fait tout pour minimiser les risques, m\u00eame si le risque z\u00e9ro n\u2019existe pas. (G\u00e9rard Guyot)<\/p>\n<p>Avant m\u00eame de monter dans le cockpit, les pilotes d\u2019essai ont d\u2019ailleurs&nbsp;plusieurs heures de vol sur simulateur&nbsp;derri\u00e8re eux. \u00ab&nbsp;On faisait les essais sur simulateur dans des hangars qui faisaient la taille de l\u2019avion.&nbsp;\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Ces entra\u00eenements avant les vols ont permis \u00e0 G\u00e9rard Guyot de n\u2019avoir \u00ab jamais eu peur \u00bb. Au contraire: \u00ab&nbsp;Le premier vol est toujours tr\u00e8s excitant.&nbsp;\u00bb<br>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son m\u00e9tier, G\u00e9rard Guyot a voyag\u00e9 partout dans le monde pour promouvoir les avions de son entreprise. \u00ab&nbsp;En septembre 1972, nous sommes partis durant six semaines pour effectuer une tourn\u00e9e en Am\u00e9rique du Sud, puis au Nord avec un prototype du A300 B1. Nous avons refait la m\u00eame chose en 1974.&nbsp;\u00bb<br>Un tour du monde de 48 heures<br>Vingt ans apr\u00e8s son entr\u00e9e chez Airbus, G\u00e9rard Guyot va m\u00eame plus loin, en r\u00e9alisant&nbsp;un tour du monde en 48 heures&nbsp;avec un&nbsp;Airbus A340, le premier quadrimoteur long courrier europ\u00e9en.<br>Alors \u00e9galement&nbsp;directeur du d\u00e9partement des essais en vol \u00e0 Airbus Industrie, il a organis\u00e9 ce vol un peu sp\u00e9cial pour mettre en valeur ce nouvel avion. Le vol s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 durant le&nbsp;salon du Bourget de juin 1993.<br>On a d\u00e9coll\u00e9 le jeudi \u00e0 midi et on est revenu le samedi \u00e0 midi.(G\u00e9rard Guyot)<br>Pour r\u00e9aliser cet exploit, plusieurs mois de travail ont \u00e9t\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaires afin d\u2019all\u00e9ger le plus possible l\u2019engin. \u00ab&nbsp;On a d\u00e9mont\u00e9 tout ce que l\u2019on pouvait. Il n\u2019y avait quasiment rien dans l\u2019avion.&nbsp;\u00bb<br>Au final, ce sont&nbsp;22 personnes&nbsp;qui ont pris place \u00e0 bord.&nbsp;Quatre pilotes se sont relay\u00e9s. Il y avait donc G\u00e9rard Guyot, mais aussi&nbsp;Bernard Ziegler,&nbsp;Pierre Baud&nbsp;et l\u2019anglais&nbsp;Nick Warner. \u00ab&nbsp;Tout s\u2019est tr\u00e8s bien d\u00e9roul\u00e9. On a seulement eu une petite inqui\u00e9tude en y allant, car l\u2019un des moteurs consommait plus d\u2019huile que les autres.&nbsp;\u00bb<br>L\u2019avion n\u2019a ainsi effectu\u00e9 qu\u2019une&nbsp;seule escale \u00e0 Auckland, en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande. Quatre&nbsp;records, dont la plus grande distance effectu\u00e9e en un seul vol, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tablis avec ce tour du monde.<br>8 000 heures de vol<br>G\u00e9rard Guyot a pris sa retraite en 2000 avec plus de&nbsp;8 000 heures de vol \u00e0 son actif.&nbsp;\u00ab&nbsp;Pilote de vol d\u2019essai et pilote de ligne sont deux m\u00e9tiers diff\u00e9rents. Mais pour moi, pilote de vol d\u2019essai est plus int\u00e9ressant. J\u2019ai pu voler sur de nombreux avions diff\u00e9rents, alors qu\u2019un pilote de ligne, chez Air France par exemple, vole durant dix ans sur le m\u00eame type d\u2019appareil.&nbsp;\u00bb<br>G\u00e9rard Guyot a pris sa retraite de pilote d\u2019essai en 2000, mais il a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler dans l\u2019aviation jusqu\u2019en 2013. \u00a9Le Perche<br>G\u00e9rard Guyot a cependant continu\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler dans l\u2019aviation durant treize ans en faisant partie d\u2019un groupe de travail sur les accidents, avec pour objectif de les faire diminuer. \u00ab&nbsp;Notre travail \u00e9tait d\u2019analyser les accidents en d\u00e9tail.&nbsp;En dix ans, les accidents ont baiss\u00e9 de 80 %.
